Amstelwood is a residential development focused on sustainable living, circular construction and a strong connection with nature. The website plays a key role in communicating this vision, highlighting both the architectural concept and the lifestyle surrounding the project. During my internship, I worked on the UX/UI design of the Amstelwood website, translating complex information about sustainability, housing and location into a clear and visually calm digital experience. The goal was to inform potential residents while maintaining a premium and nature-driven brand identity.

Design process

- UX & content analysis - Information architecture - Visual direction - UI design & iterations - Feedback & refinement - WordPress implementation

Because the brand foundations were already in place, my role focused on integrating the existing brand system into the website in a coherent and functional way. This required careful consideration of hierarchy, spacing and visual balance, ensuring the interface supported the calm and premium character of the project. Amstelwood had already defined a detailed sitemap, which served as a strong starting point for structuring the content. Using this as a guideline, I worked on organising pages and sections in a way that felt intuitive, while keeping the focus on clarity and discoverability. An interesting difference compared to other projects was that the client wanted to move directly into visual design, without a separate wireframing phase. This meant making design decisions early on and validating them through frequent feedback moments with colleagues. One of the key elements requested by the client was an interactive map highlighting points of interest around the location. I designed this section and iterated on it through multiple feedback rounds, refining both the visual presentation and usability. The before-and-after iterations show how the design evolved toward a clearer and more integrated solution. In addition to the homepage, I worked on several core pages including the offering page, about page and a live feed. After the website went live, the client requested a full translation of the platform. This introduced me to working with the WordPress dashboard and managing multilingual content, adding a technical layer to the project beyond design alone. The final result is a calm and cohesive website that brings the Amstelwood vision to life, translating an established brand into a clear and well-structured digital experience.
